As part of Foster Care Fortnight and this year’s theme, ‘This Is Fostering’, we invited our fostering community to share the moments, memories and images that best represent what fostering means to them.
The response has been truly inspiring.
We are so pleased to share the first of our collages, a beautifully varied collection that captures the many different experiences, emotions and everyday realities of fostering. From quiet, meaningful moments at home to joyful outings and achievements, each image tells its own story. Together, they build a powerful picture of what fostering really looks like.
What stands out most is just how diverse these experiences are. No two fostering journeys are ever the same. For some, fostering is about providing stability and routine; for others, it’s about shared laughter, new milestones, or simply being there when it matters most. It can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding, often all at once.
This is why it’s so important not only to recognise the different forms fostering can take, but to truly celebrate them. Every experience shared, every moment captured, reflects the dedication, compassion and resilience within our community.
This collage is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more stories and images that continue to shine a light on the unique and meaningful ways fostering shapes lives, both for those who foster and those who are supported through it.
