Celebrating Community Spirit: Sherisha’s Recognition at Westminster Abbey

At Credo Care Fostering, we are thrilled to share the remarkable news regarding one of our dedicated Supervising Social Workers, Sherisha. Recently, she received a prestigious invitation from the Princess of Wales to attend the Christmas Carol Service at the historic Westminster Abbey. This honour is a testament to Sherisha’s exceptional work in creating a supportive community for single parents, addressing issues of loneliness, and building connections among those who often feel isolated.

Sherisha’s initiative, which has grown into a thriving single parent group, has had a significant impact on the local community. Since its inception 5 years ago, the group has successfully supported over 300 single parents in the Worcestershire area, providing a safe space where they can come together, share experiences, and build meaningful friendships. In a world where social isolation can be a significant challenge, Sherisha has created an environment of understanding.

Reflecting on her unforgettable experience at the Christmas Carol Service, Sherisha described it as “truly magical” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be among those who have made impactful changes within their communities. She shared her excitement, saying, “It was made even more special when the Princess of Wales requested to speak to me. I’m still pinching myself.” This acknowledgment not only elevates Sherisha’s efforts but also shines a spotlight on the pressing need for community support systems for single parents.
