“I can say I am very happy to have grown up fostering and for sure I am a better person because of it”
Meet Josh
Josh is now 30 and has recently moved to Germany for his work. When he was 4 his parents started to foster children with additional needs. He explains: When we began fostering in 1996 we could share rooms with the foster children. This wasn’t always easy because often the children we offered short breaks to would make noises throughout the night, destroy my belongings or urinate around the room. Even though it could be tough at times, I would not have changed this experience. Over the 20 years we fostered I learnt so much about different people, different needs and how to really accept and value everyone, regardless of circumstance. It was fun introducing the foster children to my friends and watching them enjoy being part of the occasions. I can say I am very happy to have grown up fostering and for sure I am a better person because of it. I am proud to have been part of their journey.
