Richard P
Managing Director
I joined Credo Care in January 2019 and as the Managing Director I oversee social work and administration of the Agency. I have worked in the areas of disability and fostering services in a variety of senior management positions in children’s services at a number of Local Authorities and act as chair of governors at a secondary special needs school. I also fulfil the regulated post of Registered Manager for the Agency and regularly meet up with all managers, staff and foster families to ensure we are meeting the needs of the children placed with us and the regulatory requirements of the Agency.
Roy
Director
I established Credo Care with Damien in 2000 having been inspired by my family who fostered and my experience as a fostering Social Worker. I hold the roles of Responsible Individual and back-up Agency Decision Maker at Credo Care. I am passionate about our work and am motivated by service development. It is my personal mission to help young people who have disabilities (in care) benefit from a loving foster home rather than have to live their lives in long-term residential or hospital settings.
Damien
Chair of the Board of Directors
I helped found Credo Care with Roy in 2000. My role with the Agency includes chairing the meetings of the Board of Directors. With a background in caring for adults and young people with disabilities, including Independent Living Schemes, in 1990 I was also ordained as a Priest and in 2008 consecrated as a Bishop. I combine my work for Credo Care with my Church responsibilities which include travelling around my Diocese in the UK and to attend meetings of the wider Church around the world. In my spare time I enjoy reading, theatre and cinema. I am also involved in various charities and community groups.
Rob
Fostering Team Manager – Midlands Region
I’m Rob Thomson and I’m the Fostering Team Manager for the Midlands region at Credo Care. I have been a qualified Social Worker for 12 years but have worked in social care for most of my adult life. I have a background of residential, being a children and families frontline Social Worker and in more recent years I have worked in fostering services as a Supervising Social Worker before then becoming a Team Manager. I am passionate about ensuring positive outcomes for children and ensuring that they are kept safe. I admire the selfless act of becoming a foster carer and enjoy supporting them and making sure they are empowered to care for our children. It is a real pleasure to work with children with additional needs and at Credo Care we have an abundance of skills and experiences from our staff and foster carers which are shared with our children.
Jenny
Fostering Team Manager – East Region
I joined Credo Care in April 2022 as the Fostering Team Manager for the East region, having worked in Local Authority for 30 years, both in residential Short Breaks and within Fostering Short Breaks and more recently in the wider fostering service. My passion is providing high quality services that support children and young people with a range of disabilities to fulfil their potential, and through my career I have aspired to achieve this both through direct work and also through supervising foster carers and as a Team Manager. Since joining Credo I have found the level of care and attention given to meeting the individual needs of foster carers, their families, and children in placement to be impressive. There is a great ethos within the Agency, and everyone works together achieve the best outcomes, and to celebrate achievements no matter how large or small.
Karen W
HR & Office Manager, H&S Representative
I joined Credo Care in November 2019 as the HR & Office Manager and my feet had not touched the ground when Covid struck. My work history has been in a variety of sectors, including education and care, located in Kent, London and the Middle East. I began as a secretary, then later in life I trained and qualified as an HR Practitioner, which led me to roles in care, production, local authority and recruitment before coming to Credo Care. I enjoy working for Credo, helping to recruit and retain those who can share in our purpose and help make a difference to our children.
Justine
Finance Manager
AQA Unit Award Centre Coordinator & Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre Manager
I have worked in finance for the past 35 years in accounting practice, private companies and charities before coming to Credo Care. I am fully AAT qualified and have been a Finance Manager for 24 years dealing with charity accounting, management accounting, statutory returns, payroll and VAT and am an experienced Company Secretary. As Duke of Edinburgh Award Verifier for a previous setting I was very keen to see Credo Care able to offer that to our children and young people and we are now a licensed centre with myself acting as Centre Manager. I have also registered the agency as a provider of AQA Unit Awards and act as Centre Coordinator. Credo Care is an unbelievably special place and seeing the young people in our care thrive and grow with outcomes I do not believe they could achieve anywhere else is a privilege every day. Working within such a dedicated and experienced team of staff, support workers and carers is an honour and I take great pride in helping to ensure the continued financial stability and success of the agency.
Alan
Fostering Team Manager – South Region
Hi, I’m Alan Clark and I am the regional team manager for Credo Care in the South. I am originally from the Northeast of England (Newcastle) and have worked in social care and social work with children and families for the past 20 years. My experience in fostering started in 2011 and I have worked for two different Local Authority fostering teams as well as working with another Independent Fostering Agency. Within these organisations I have carried out a variety of roles and I have a great enthusiasm of working with foster carers in helping them provide a safe, happy, and loving environment which will enable the children we look after to lead a happy and fulfilled life. I look forward to continuing to work alongside the foster carers and staff from Credo Care and hope that we can continue to develop and learn from each other.
Vicky
Agency Decision Maker & Service Improvement
I’m Vicky Johnson, the Agency Decision Maker for Credo Care. Alongside this, I have a service improvement role across the Agency. The Agency Decision Maker (ADM) is the person within a fostering service who makes the formal decision whether a current or prospective foster carer is suitable for approval. These decisions are made in the light of the recommendations made by fostering assessments and foster carer reviews and by the Fostering Panel. I also have a role promoting and driving good practice and service development in Credo Care. I’ve worked in social care and social work with children and families for 23 years, as a social worker and in managerial roles in fostering and adoption. I’ve also worked as an Ofsted inspector. In independent fostering agencies I’ve held the roles of a Registered Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Agency Decision Maker, and in Local Authorities I have worked as a Team Manager and Family Placement Manager. I am passionate about working with the Credo Care team to ensure we provide excellent quality care and outcomes for all the children for whom we care, and to promote and develop even further the already high standards of Credo Care foster carers.
