Freedom Of The City Of London

On the 9th January 2023, Credo Care’s Chairman The Right Revd Dr Damien Mead, was honoured to receive the Freedom of the City of London at the Court of the Chamberlain in the Guild Hall. The ceremony, which dates back to 1237, was presided over by Miss Tiphaine Le Bian, Deputy Clerk to the Chamberlain’s Court assisted by The Beadle.

Damien was informed in September 2022 on the day the late Queen died that his nomination by Liverymen of the City had been approved by the Court of Common Council.

Roy Hipkiss came along most appropriately, as co-founder of Credo Care Ltd, and presented him with his very own City of London Sheep, “Florrie”, in lieu of driving a flock across London Bridge!

Damien told the Deputy Clerk, who was very interested to hear about Credo Care’s work with disabled children and young people, that the real “stars” deserving recognition were the phenomenal carers and staff who work with our fostering agency and the greatest reward the lives of the children they transform through their hard work and dedication.
