Credo Care and Aerobility Unite to Champion Ability Beyond Disability  Â
Collaboration creates inclusive opportunities for young people with disabilities in foster care, supporting confidence, independence and lifeâenhancing experiences
To mark Foster Care Fortnight 2026, and in support of this yearâs theme âThis Is Fosteringâ, Credo Care Fostering, an Ofsted Outstandingârated specialist disability fostering agency, and Aerobility have announced a powerful new collaboration to champion âability beyond disabilityâ.
The collaboration brings together two organisations united by a shared belief: that children and young people with disabilities deserve the same opportunities to explore their potential, build confidence and experience joy, regardless of the complexity of their needs or life circumstances.
Credo Care Fostering specialises in caring for children and young people with additional needs, complex medical needs and lifeâlimiting conditions, providing highly skilled, compassionate foster care that places the child at the heart of everything they do. The organisation works closely with foster carers, health professionals and local authorities to ensure every child feels safe, valued and empowered, while recognising and responding to their individual needs.
Aerobility is an aviation charity that transforms lives by enabling people with disabilities to experience the magic of flight. Through its core pillars of Flying, Education, and Advocacy, the charity makes aviation more accessible using adapted aircraft, simulators, and inclusive learning programmes. Operating across four UK bases, Aerobility empowers disabled individuals to challenge their limits and ask, âIf I can fly an aeroplane, what else can I do?â
Through this collaboration, young people living with Credo Careâs foster families will be offered fully accessible flying experiences, enabling them to push boundaries, try something extraordinary and experience a sense of freedom many may never have thought possible. The initiative is designed not only as an unforgettable experience, but as a powerful tool to support emotional wellbeing, selfâesteem and independence.
âAt Credo Care Fostering, we see the child before the disability. Every young person we support has strengths, ambitions and enormous potential,â said Richard Powell, Managing Director at Credo Care Fostering. âAs a specialist disability fostering agency, we are passionate about creating meaningful opportunities that enrich lives. Collaborating with Aerobility allows us to offer something truly special while reinforcing the message that disability should never define what a young person can achieve.â
âAviation changes perspectives. When disabled people take the controls of an aircraft, the focus shifts to capability, and we see that confidence carry far from the cockpit, into everyday life.â said Aerobilityâs Chief Executive, Mike Miller-Smith. âHowever, aviation isnât just about flying, itâs about focus, enjoyment, and freedom and at Aerobility, we make those experiences accessible to all, even on the groundâ
Beyond the flying experiences themselves, the collaboration aims to act as a voice for change, encouraging greater understanding of disability and challenging assumptions around capability within foster care and wider society. Together, Credo Care Fostering and Aerobility hope to highlight stories of resilience, courage and achievement, advocating for more inclusive experiences for disabled children and young people.
By championing ability beyond disability, the collaboration reinforces a simple but powerful message: with belief, care and opportunity, young people with even the most complex needs can thrive, dream and achieve extraordinary things.
