Location:  Office based in Lydd with hybrid working and some national travel to visit regional teams.

Credo Care Fostering is seeking an experienced fostering manager to lead on our fostering service, working with colleagues to continue the outstanding work in expanding the agency.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate manager who will strive to ensure that the children and young people in our care reach their full potential.

You will manage and coordinate the social work and all other operational activities of the fostering agency, ensuring effective and efficient service provision within the legal and regulatory framework of foster care.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Experience as a Registered Manager or senior fostering leader

Knowledge of Fostering Regulations, NMS, and Ofsted compliance

Experience in safeguarding, permanency planning and fostering management

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management

A car and valid driving licence

Overall responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end operational service in the provision of effective and safe provision of care for looked after children, in accordance with Fostering Service Regulations 2011 and 13 (England), National Minimum Standards 2011 (England)
  • Maintain and keep up to date the policies of Credo Care Fostering in line with up-to-date regulations and guidance
  • Recruit, induct, appraise, supervise and support staff employed within Credo Care Fostering in accordance with the agency’s policies and to provide day-to-day consultation to staff on professional matters
  • Oversee training to carers, staff and professionals, including Skills To Foster, induction training and the annual training provided to professionals and all panel members
  • Ensure quality Form F and Transfer Assessments are undertaken of applicants who want to become foster carers
  • Maintain and foster all professional relationships including the Panel Chair, Vice Chair, The Agency Decision Maker and all significant internal and external stake holders
  • Ensure Annual Reviews of existing foster carers are undertaken
  • Acting as the lead Safeguarding Officer of the organisation.
